Every time I start working on an opening blog post, I end up with the same problem: How do I introduce myself to you? Then I usually get all worked up and end up with something particularly cheesy.

And it was no different this time.

Ever since I’ve been asked to be a blogger for MWEB, ideas and plans regarding the approach and strategy were almost constantly in my head.

After all, people working here are people I very much respect on both personal and professional level. I definitely didn’t want anything to go wrong.

I was so involved into planning future blog posts that I actually forgot about the initial one. And then our designer, Marko Aleksic, struck me with a question and I had no idea how or where to start.

So here I am, 10 days before we officially air, coming up with a proper introduction to a welcoming blog post. I feel as if I have moved into a new apartment and am now hosting a house-warming party with a bunch of people, only few of which I actually know.

So let’s just start by introducing ourselves.

We are MWEB and we’ve been around for some time now. The original team started really small and we haven’t changed much since. We have just slightly grown in numbers and managed to learn as much as we possibly could along the way.

What is it that we do?

We create websites that are responsive, appealing to the eye, and, most importantly, that suit the need of our customers.

Our goal in this job is not only to earn a living. We are enthusiastic about what we do and we are aware of the fact that this is the industry that requires constant learning, as trends and practice are constantly changing.

When you check our website, in the portfolio section you will be able to see that we mostly work with small businesses. After hearing their ideas, we strive to find the solution that will represent them to the online world in the light they deserve.

However, we are also proud of the several instances where we had an opportunity to work with universities in creating efficient, high-level websites that will help them leave a lasting impression on their future students and colleagues.

Our educational work

We take great pride in our knowledge. All of us, both individually and as a team, have worked hard to get where we are today, and we work even harder now.

However, getting proper education relevant to the IT industry can be somewhat of a challenge in Serbia.

So we started giving back to our community.

It started out with a conference. We named it WebDan. Dan is a Serbian word standing for ‘a day’, so our conference is basically a day dedicated to everything that has to do with web.

Over the years we have met some amazing people, motivated some very progressive learners, and had a chance to hear some of the most insightful speakers.

And this year we will be hosting our 5th annual conference.

What can you expect from this blog?

When it comes to this blog, we will stick to what we do well. In the coming months you can expect a bunch of useful info for small business owners who are looking for a way to up their game in the online world.

From some of the basic tips on how to keep your WordPress site safe, to a deeper look into the world of optimisation, you will be able to find out more about all the tips and tricks we use in our everyday practice. If you’re interested in what the process of creating a website looks like behind the scenes; or what are the things you should know before you actually hire a web design agency, you will eventually find your answers here.

In addition to that, we also have an interesting design project coming up and the two of our designers feel particularly excited about this. We will keep you posted here and share all the relevant information in several weeks.

In the meantime, you can follow us here on Medium or some of our social media channels and we promise to make your Mondays little less tiresome and little more motivating.

See you next Monday!
